Rooted in Utah.
Building Our Future.

SEF is a Utah-grown nonprofit lender dedicated to helping families, builders, and local leaders create better housing and energy solutions.

Mission & Vision

We believe Utah families deserve homes that are affordable, efficient, and built to last. By financing practical housing and energy projects, SEF helps strengthen communities across our state while safeguarding the future for generations to come.

Our Story

SEF was founded as a nonprofit 501(c)3 to meet a clear need: flexible, community-driven financing for affordable, reliable, and efficient housing and energy projects. We work alongside homeowners, developers, contractors, and governments to make practical solutions possible – especially in communities that are often overlooked by traditional lenders.

We combine trusted local knowledge with responsible financial stewardship to help projects move forward where they’re needed most.

We are a mission-driven nonprofit lender that designs and deploys affordable, innovative financial products for housing and energy development.
